Our commitment to animal welfare

At Janusfabrikken, we are deeply committed to animal welfare and strictly follow the guidelines set by the IWTO (International Wool Textile Organisation). We only work with suppliers who share our values and adhere to the highest standards of sheep welfare.

Our principles for animal welfare:

  1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
We ensure that all animals have constant access to fresh water and nutritious food that maintains their health and well-being.

  2. Freedom from discomfort
The sheep are kept in an environment that provides adequate protection and comfort, so they feel safe and well-adjusted.

  3. Freedom from pain and disease
We practice prevention and rapid treatment of injuries or illnesses. We support a non-mulesing policy, which means we do not tolerate unnecessary procedures that may cause the animals pain.

  4. Freedom to express natural behavior
The animals have access to enough space and facilities that allow them to express their natural behavior, in the company of other animals of the same species.

  5. Freedom from fear and distress
We ensure that the animals are treated with respect and care, so they can live without stress and mental suffering.

Our commitment to quality and sustainability

We are proud to deliver high-quality wool products, while also taking responsibility for the animals that provide the raw materials. By working with suppliers who share our dedication to animal welfare, we ensure that our products are ethically produced and sustainable.
